I remembered this fine example of “The Toyota Way” meeting “The American Way” seen in San Francisco earlier this year.
No, the car has not been in a collision and there were no other mounting holes in the bumper. The plate had been fixed with apparent precision, but not a level!

Traffic Light Thought - I saw a Peugeot 107!?
This might seem an odd thought to any European or U.K. based readers given the Peugeot 107 (and it's Toyota & Citroën cousins) is a relatively common sight.
However there is no mention of the 107 on the Peugeot New Zealand web site and, as far as I know, it was never imported here. I can only assume this was a private import or arrived via Singapore, Hong Kong or Japan as a second hand import.
In contrast to the retro Fiat 500 the 107 is all modern and minimalist. I could only take it in from the adjacent lane, as we crossed the bridge, but it reminded me of the Citroën AX in it's economic approach. Large light clusters cover areas that would be expensive to form in steel, the hatch appeared to be a hinged glass with reinforcing rather than the usual frame & window insert. It's a true small car, not like the obese "Mini", and one I reckon would sell well in New Zealand if the price was right. That is, I suspect, the problem as it would face fierce competition from new small cars and larger, cheaper, Japanese Imports.
I wonder if it would stand the premium pricing Fiat are getting, or trying to get, for the 500. It's $26,990 for 1.2 500 Pop here but you can get a 1.4 Grande Punto 5Dr Dynamic for $2000 less!
