Why do you blog?
Submitted by littleduckling.
It started, in 2004, because I was feeling guilty. I'd learned a lot from others AutoCAD & IT sites/blogs and felt I should give something back. A blog was an easy way to have a web presence without the hassle of coding or hosting a site.
RobiNZ CAD Blog was unleashed on the world with posts, loosely, about CAD and related software. Then I wanted to post other random stuff so spun off RobiNZ Personal Blog.
The CAD readers are spared rants on Formula 1, Fiats and other random topics unless they choose to read them too. This Vox blog exists more as an experiment than a full time effort but all three have become a recreation I'd miss if for some reason had to stop.
I enjoy reading blogs, over a thousand feeds in my reader, but I also enjoy writing. I like to hope it's improving my writing but who am I to judge! Given the number of typos I make, luckily most don't get to the web, it hasn't really helped my typing!
The thing that onstantly amazes me is people like reading my blogs! I dint know when I started this lark I'd meet, in person at conferences, readers from all around the world - Australia, Korea, USA, Sweden, U.K. and more. When you're 10,000km, or more, from home & someone says "Hi, I read your blog" it's awesome!.
