Autodesk take 3D on the road, Sparks fly! #3DRV

Autodesk are taking their 3D design/print efforts in, literally, new directions with a road trip and entry into the hardware business. The 3D RV road tour Imagine being given a snazzy Recreational Vehicle and told to drive off into the sunset in search of new design and manufacturing technology. TJ McCue doesn’t have to imagine as he has the opportunity to do just that! Although I can’t join him on board the #3DRV I’ll be following his adventures on social media. Back in 2006 I wrote a post “ What’s in a name” asking is “CAD BIM or is BIM CAD?”. A web image search for BIM turned up this rather unusual, if appropriate, image. Kiwi Bliss + on my Windows 8 lock screen?

I don’t miss Windows XP but my current Windows 8 lock screen reminds me of that iconic XP Bliss background, with a twist. The sculpture is “Horizons” by Neil Dawson from the Gibbs Farm Sculpture Collection, Kaipara, New Zealand. This is a 2D visual illusion made of steel tube & mesh in a truly epic scale.
