I encountered this error today when I attempted to add the recent Revit Update Release 1 to an existing Building Design Suite deployment using the modify admin tools. I got through the wizard OK, adding the service pack, and the image update proceeded normally until failing with this error:
After a couple of attempts (which failed) and checking the basics (like sufficient disk space to store the image!) it was time to investigate further. A web search found this Autodesk Up and Ready blog post with an answer, if not one I wanted.
Autodesk Suites: Modifying a Building Design Suite 2013 fails at FBX - Up and Ready
“At this time the only solution is to re-create the deployment with the updated changes. This issue has been reported to the Building Design Suite QA team.” Posted 05/28/2012
As this post was a couple of months old I checked with autodeskcare.com, via their @autodeskcare Twitter contact, to see if it had since been resolved:
@robincapper Hi! No fix yet. This has been reported to our QA team. Please keep on checking upandready.typepad.com for updates. ^SIM

Alas there is no fix but I thought it a great example of how the “old” social media like blogs* combine with newer social media, like Twitter, for near instant interaction. Both still have their place!
Until I make a new image I will just deploy, then manually apply the update. Not really a big deal for me as don’t have many machines to do.
* Remember when blogs were new media!
UPDATE 29/06/2013: Comment from a reader with link to updated forum post regarding this issue
Came across your blog about the FBX error. With the release of UR3 thought it might be a good time to point you to this.
