6th Anniversary!

It’s blog’iversary time again. I find it hard to believe six years have flown by since that first tentative post. To everyone, everywhere, thanks for visiting, reading and subscribing! There are some cool changes coming up, but for now it is time to look back on the last year of bloggy stats. AutoCAD 2011, my pick of the new (and borrowed) features

It’s the time of year when Autodesk unleash new versions and AutoCAD 2011 is available now. It’s time to start considering the new feature set and decide what you’ll implement, or avoid. It’s about you, not the software? There is little point upgrading, even a single workstation, if you don’t use the new features. Only a test drive can let you truly evaluate them. While doing that take the opportunity to take a step back and consider your current process. Can the new features assist, maybe even eliminate, your current workflow or techniques? It’s Autodesk 2011 time

It’s the time of year when Autodesk unleash new versions of their applications. I just finished watching a webcast announcing the AutoCAD, AEC, Manufacturing and Visualisation products. “With the release of these powerful applications, the 2011 Autodesk product line is truly the best-in-class,” said Autodesk President and Chief Executive Officer Carl Bass. “Building on our long history of making complex technology more accessible to a broader audience, we made our portfolio of 3D design and engineering tools both simpler and more powerful". Excel Ribbon’y Office goodness

What’s that, you know, the thing in Excel where you can stop stuff scrolling…? It was Office 2003 so I had to show the Window Menu>Freeze Panes command and explain, demo, how it freezes rows/columns to the left & above the selected cell. That led me to wonder why on “Window” when it’s the document view you are changing and what, if you don’t already know, would make you look for “Freeze Panes”?
