Doing a few posts about new CAD Blogs tonight had me looking at the history of this one. I just realised its a little over a year since it started with that first timid post on March 30, 2004.
The year has flown by its and its surprising to see some of the statistics:
- 363 Posts
- 5,850 visitors per month (average)
- 14,000 page views per month (average)
I’d like to thank you all for visiting. I hope its been worth the time you’ve spent here and that you’ll be back!
Any ideas on future content are welcome. I’ve recently split non-cad content off to a Personal Blog so this one will remain focused on CAD, related applications with a few Design, IT and Blogging posts.
If anyone is to blame for all this it’s Shaan Hurley. I read his Between the Lines AutoCAD blog before I really knew what a blog was. His site is great and prompted me to think about doing something of my own. Soon after that I found TypePad, which makes blogging so easy, and it became a reality.
However, the best thing about blogging doesn’t show in the statistics. It’s the people you meet via the blog. If you are thinking about starting one, I recommend it! The first post is the hardest but you never know where it will lead.
When I wrote that post in March I didn’t know in November I’d be meeting Shaan, at Autodesk, on the way to Autodesk University where I’d also meet other CAD Bloggers.*
*My decision to go to the US & AU was made while blogging about AU. I had been thinking about it then started to write “it would be good to go…”. “Mid-post” I decided I would go and signed up** on the spot, it was worth it!
**Blogging may harm your credit card.
