An industry survey has picked CAD as one of the "10 Electronic Technologies That Changed Construction". I wonder if in 10 years time BIM (or whatever they call it then) will have made it to that list. Its trying to combine & harness many of the technologies that did.

There is a nice article in the Engineering News-Record issue on June 12, 2004. It lists AutoCAD by Autodesk as number two in the list of the ten technologies to change the construction industry in the past 20 years.
