A reminder of Lockie's place

A few weeks ago, I joined the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust as "Friend of Antarctica". They've been hammered by COVID-19 as much of their income comes from Antarctic tourists visiting Port Lockroy, as I did last year, and of course now they aren't. Mercer Bay Loop

The (home) office receptionist likes the Mercer Bay Loop, rare to have no wind. The track has been 'civilised', in part to control kauri dieback, and my 'secret' favourite view spot has been landscaped. It used to be a largely un-noticed cut through the bush off the track. Read more →
