Chrysler get Fiat power train & small car technology, Fiat get Chrysler's US distribution network and maybe US plants which I can see the sense of having. You have to wonder if any more deals are in the offer to replace the lost Opel bid and give Fiat large RWD platform for Alfa/Lancia. I hope the 300 isn't being considered for that as an old Americanised Mercedes chassis ain't ever going to make an Alfa.
Maybe Tata, with it's Jaguar connections, is back on the phone list. They could use some more volume (both large RWD & 4WD) and Mr Marchionne knows who to call.
