Will switching off your connected existence for a day change the world? I doubt it but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth trying. However, I’m not going to do it on Shutdown Day as I’m going further, a Shutdown Week!
It’s not really a green move, as I’m getting there by aircraft, but at least the tour company are green globe certified, carbon neutral and I will be the power source for some of the transport
UPDATE 02-03-2007: It was pointed out at work that I won’t actually be computer free and will be accessing a global network while cycling. Does using a handheld GPS violate “shutdown day” rules?
