Giant Airbus A380 plane raises chance of medical emergencies

I wouldn’t think its a big deal but interesting to see this article in New Scientist which discusses one unexpected aspect of the new A380. The large number of passengers also increases the probability that there will be a medical emergency on a flight. “The A380 ability to carry twice as many passengers will almost double the chances of a medical emergency on any given flight” It’s size means that its restricted to airports that can handle large aircraft (as are 747’s) which may require consideration when planning route diversions. Carlos the kitten and The Bose Wave Radio

I have a Bose Wave clock radio with touch pad type controls on the top and a remote control. Its far better than your average clock radio and capable of as much volume as a stereo system. This morning at 5:00 I awoke suddenly thinking I had been transported to a Polynesian island and saw Carlos, the kitten, flying out the bedroom door. Earlier this year I made an approach to Red Bull regarding possible sponsorship for a friend involved in a fairly extreme sport. I imagine they get many approaches but thought it was worth a try so submitted a brief introduction, some web links and contact details via their corporate web page. It took some time, but recently I got an email with a detailed response. Although not able to help with the project it was great that they took the time to respond. Boing Boing post the sad tale of the Los Angeles Star Wars Episode III premiere promising an "incredible gift bag containing Star Wars merchandise" and "Intergalactic After-Party." Boing Boing: Revenge of the Tithe: Lament over Lame Star Wars Gift Bag I suppose I should care about “Revenge of the Sith” as I’m from the “Star Wars Generation” but I think the whole franchise is lame.
