Autodesk are supporting a series of DesignByMany challenges and first involves re-skinning a building on the corner of Broadway and Reade St, New York City. The prize is a Revit Architecture 2013 license and, although based on a US building, there are no geographic restrictions for entrants. Check out the details and resources at DesignByMany but be aware the final submission date is July 9th 2012 at 11:59 pm (UTC/GMT -5).
REskin designbymany challenge
“We’re excited to sponsor a series of six DesignbyMany technology design challenges. DesignByMany is a design challenge community that allows designers to become involved in solving component and building level problems to function as community powered R&D for the building industry.
The first challenge Autodesk is sponsoring is called REskin, which asks participants to cleverly reskin a decaying urban building in New York City. Submissions can range from a focused investigation to an entire reskinning of the building. The skin should be both inventive and buildable. All final submissions must be Revit models. More information about the challenge can be found here.
The winner of the REskin challenge will be chosen by a panel of judges, including Autodesk’s own Zach Kron, and will receive a full license of Autodesk® Revit® Architecture 2013.”
