I must admit I'm not really an Indy Car fan, the round & round oval races don't appeal, but it was brilliant to see Scott Dixon take the title. A well deserved reward for him, his family and the loyal Kiwi backers who helped get him to the USA.
This is an interesting “Geeks Eye” behind the scenes look at the Target Chip Ganassi Indy Car Team.
Robert Scoble grabs a cam-corder and takes a look at the technology the team use including Tablet PC’s, Microsoft software like One-Note, Excel, Office and web collaboration. It’s not all compu-speak as there is a bunch of interesting racing related discussion with team members of the likes you just don’t see on TV (why not?).Unfortunately there is only a brief shot of their Kiwi Driver Scott Dixon.
It’s a big download, 256 MB, so don’t try this on dial-up but well worth a look for car racing geeks (like me!).
OK, OK, a Microsoft employee, Eric Maino got us tickets and introduced us to the team. We knew the Target team uses lots of Microsoft stuff, so we were very fortunate to get into the garage and other behind-the-scenes areas…
